My period has never been irregular and now im starting to wonder if it has anything to do with my weight loss and diet. I was happy to learn… This can mean one of two things. Either you're not taking in sufficient calories or you're not at a healthy BMI. Both are so bad for your body. A low calorie intake can cause your periods to stop as your body is forced to prioritise what functions to allot energy to. Basically, you're eating below your BMR so your body can't function effectively and has to spend the limited calories on doing the bare minimum to keep you alive. Be aware that it can't do this for long and you get no warning as to when it will stop. Even people at a healthy weight can suffer from a sudden heart attack by following a very low calorie diet. Alternatively your body is at such a low weight that it can't function properly. The only way to stop this is by gaining weight. Basically this is a sign that something is wrong with your approach to eating and it's doing damage to your body. And this is only the effects you can sense, there could be a lot more harm being done than you realise. For the sake of your body and long-term health I would recommend that you re-evaluate your diet. I know losing weight feels good but you need to seriously think about what's important to you.
